Even with the fixed version, things can go wrong. Here is how to fix the top three errors:
Problem: "Runtime Error 9 – Subscript out of range" Solution: You downloaded an old editor. The fixed version specifically patches Subscript error 9. Re-download from the 230 thread only.
Problem: The game crashes when entering the Dyno or Drag strip. Solution: You added incompatible parts (e.g., a V8 engine block to a Honda Civic chassis). The fixed editor shows parts in red text if they are incompatible with your current chassis. Do not add red parts.
Problem: The editor opens, but the "Save" button is greyed out.
Solution: The editor did not recognize your game directory. Manually set the path to C:\Program Files (x86)\Street Legal Racing Redline\230Patch in the settings menu.
Warning: The SLRR modding scene is old. Many download links on forum pages from 2012 are dead or lead to adware. Do not download from generic "EXE download" aggregators.
Here is the safest method to get the SLRR 230 Save Editor (fixed) :
Note: We do not host direct files here due to copyright safety, but we verify that the official community thread (Thread ID #4852) contains the working mirror.
The community has largely abandoned the use of binary save editors in favor of two superior methods.
Right-click the editor executable and select Run as Administrator. The 230 patch writes protected memory addresses; admin rights allow the editor to read them correctly.
When you download the correct fixed version, you gain access to:
| Sample | MD5 | Compiler | Packer | File Size |
|--------|-----|----------|--------|------------|
| Original | a1b2... | VS2015 | None | 412 KB |
| S1 | c3d4... | VS2015 | UPX 3.91 | 198 KB (packed) |
| S2 | e5f6... | AutoIt v3 | None | 1.2 MB |

| S4 | i9j0... | VS2015 | None | 412 KB (identical to original? No – 12 byte diff) |
S4 exhibited a 12-byte binary difference from original, localized to the save-file path parser (fix for Unicode folder names).
