Sims 4 Stop Stealing Mod Exclusive

Over the years, a small subset of Sims 4 mod creators have used permanent paywalls (early access that never becomes free) or exclusive patreon-only content that is technically against EA’s modding policy (which states all mods must eventually be free).

Some of these creators also included anti-theft code that ironically prevented legitimate bug fixes, recolor permissions, or translation mods – but didn’t stop actual theft. Worse, a few bad actors created “mod managers” that silently copied other creators’ work.

The Stop Stealing mod emerged as a defensive tool for creators who wanted to protect their free or early-access content from being automatically ripped off by these predatory tools.

How it works: After installing PlumBros, you click on any object in the game (your rare CC sword, your exclusive statue, your computer). A pie menu appears with: "PlumBros > Lock > Prevent Theft."
