Shimeji Ralsei May 2026

Installing a Shimeji is not a simple double-click affair. You need to replace the default assets.

Step 1: Install Java Go to the official Java website and download the JRE. Restart your computer after installation.

Step 2: Extract the base Shimeji Unzip the Shimeji-ee folder to a permanent location (e.g., C:\Users\[You]\Desktop Buddies\Shimeji). Do not run it from your Downloads folder.

Step 3: Locate the img folder Inside the Shimeji folder, you will see a subfolder named img. This contains the default character (usually a black-haired anime girl). Rename this folder to img_original as a backup.

Step 4: Install the Ralsei skin Unzip your downloaded Ralsei folder. Inside, you should see files named 0.png, 1.png, behavior.xml, etc. Rename the Ralsei folder to exactly img. Move this new img folder into the Shimeji engine folder.

Step 5: Run the application Double-click Shimeji-ee.jar or Shimeji.exe. If a Java window pops up asking for permissions, click "Allow." shimeji ralsei

Result: A tiny Ralsei should fall from the top of your screen. Congratulations, you have a digital son.

Not all Shimeji Ralsei downloads are identical, as different artists create unique sprite sheets. However, the most popular versions include the following behaviors and animations:

Generally, yes. The standard Ralsei Shimeji is completely safe for work. However, be aware of "NSFW" variants floating around on DeviantArt (often labeled "Bathrobe Ralsei" or "Milk Ralsei"). These involve custom animations you probably do not want your boss to see. Stick to the vanilla version if you are on a work laptop.

A Shimeji is a small, interactive desktop character that can walk, climb, fall, multiply, and play with your windows. Originally from a Japanese desktop toy program, Shimejis have become popular fan art formats, often made for specific characters.

I honestly can't get over how cute these little guys are. One second he’s sitting peacefully on my taskbar, the next he’s multiplying and throwing my Chrome windows off the screen.

There is something so pure about having the Prince from the Dark World hanging out while I write essays. 10/10 would recommend downloading one immediately. My desktop has never been softer.

He even hugs the mouse cursor sometimes and I simply cannot handle it. 🥺💚
