If you are using the app to monitor a "hot" panel, you are theoretically performing "remote diagnosis." This allows you to avoid opening the panel door while it is energized.


If the actual panel chassis is warm to the touch, you likely have Macrobending loss. When a fiber optic cable is bent too tightly inside the LCO panel, light escapes the cladding and turns into heat. This is bad.

The "panel" refers to the physical electrical enclosure—the distribution board, the breaker box, or the automation hub located on a factory floor or in a server room.
