Old cracks often require elevated privileges to hook into the game process.

  • Click Apply > OK.
  • Repeat steps 2-5 for settings.exe (though not mandatory, it helps).

    • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

    regsvr32 rld.dll

    (but note: game cracks often don't register like normal DLLs)

    rld.dll relies on Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries. If these are missing or corrupt, the DLL will fail to initialize (Error E4).

  • Install all of them (even if you have newer versions, older ones are needed separately).
  • Restart your PC and test the game.

    • This is a separate issue, but often follows the E4 fix. Run settings.exe in the PES folder. Go to the Specs tab. Uncheck "Wait for V-sync" and lower your resolution. Set your desktop scaling to 100%.

  • Close unnecessary programs to free up system resources.

    • Before we begin, a serious warning. You will find hundreds of websites offering a "free rld.dll download." Never do this. Downloading standalone DLLs from untrustworthy sources is the #1 way to get malware, trojans, or keyloggers on your PC. We will solve this without resorting to shady downloads.
