Blackberry Passport — Linux On

Once installed, you have two options:

Option A: CLI Only (The "Cyberdeck" Mode) You launch the "Terminal" app on your Passport. You type debian. Suddenly, your keyboard controls bash. Option B: XFCE or LXQt (The "Madman" Mode) Using XSDL (X Server for Android/BB10) or a VNC server, you can actually run a lightweight desktop environment. Because the screen is square, you have to modify the xorg.conf to force 1440x1440. Once installed, you have two options: Option A:

Pros: Full phone functionality (calls, SMS, BB10 hub) remains intact.
Cons: Android 4.3 runtime is ancient (no modern software support). Performance is slower than native Linux. The Keyboard: The keyboard acts as a generic input device
