The Japanese cast—including Masako Nozawa (Goku, Gohan, Goten), Ryo Horikawa (Vegeta), and Norio Wakamoto (Cell)—re-recorded their roles for Kai at an older, more experienced stage in their careers. Nozawa, in particular, delivers a more nuanced Goku in Kai than in the 1989 original. Subtitles preserve these authentic vocal performances without localization changes.
