Deep Freeze doesn’t just hide files or act like a restore point. It intercepts write commands to the hard drive at the sector level, redirecting them to a temporary overlay. When the system restarts, it discards that overlay, leaving the original Windows 11 partition untouched.

Deep Freeze doesn’t block malware—it erases it on reboot. However, malware could still steal data during a single session. Keep Windows Defender active and updated (store definitions in a ThawSpace).
Installing Deep Freeze is a two-part process: First you install the software, then you "freeze" the drive.
You will see a snowflake icon in the system tray:
The PC will reboot. After restart, you’ll see the Deep Freeze boot menu (if enabled) or a small icon in the system tray. The computer is now frozen.
