Altobeam Wifi Driver Full May 2026

Altobeam chips are not fast – expect ~35 Mbps max. But they are weirdly stable at long range. Run:

iperf3 -c 192.168.1.x -t 30

If jitter stays under 5ms, you've succeeded. Most other cheap chips jump to 50ms.

Target Chips: ATBM6031, ATBM6041, ATBM6051, ATBM8831 (often sold as "150Mbps Nano Adapter").

Step 1: Extract the full package to a folder like C:\Drivers\Altobeam_Full. altobeam wifi driver full

Step 2: Uninstall existing driver:

Step 3: Install using the provided installer (easiest method):

Step 4: Manual INF installation (if no installer): Altobeam chips are not fast – expect ~35 Mbps max

Step 5: Reboot and then open the Altobeam WiFi Utility from the Start Menu. Here you can:

This guide covers identifying your Altobeam Wi‑Fi device, finding the correct driver, preparing your system, installing drivers on Windows and Linux, troubleshooting common issues, and keeping drivers up to date.

  • Poor Documentation – Altobeam's official docs are sparse, often in broken English or Chinese, with outdated configuration examples. You’ll likely rely on community forum posts (Armbian, OpenWrt, etc.) to piece things together.
  • Limited Throughput – Don't expect high performance. Real-world TCP throughput peaks around 20–30 Mbps (even on a 100 Mbps PHY). Not suitable for HD video streaming or large file transfers.
  • No 5GHz / 802.11ac Support – Most Altobeam drivers are 2.4GHz only. If you're in a congested environment (apartments, dorms), interference will cause latency spikes and reduced speed.
  • Power Management Issues – On battery-powered devices, the driver sometimes fails to enter/exit sleep correctly, causing either high idle drain or failure to reconnect after wake.
  • Run this command before you plug in the dongle, then after: If jitter stays under 5ms, you've succeeded

Look for a line with ID 14c3:7634 or 14c3:6001.
Interesting fact: Altobeam often uses the same VID/PID as MediaTek (14c3), leading to false identification.

If you see 14c3:7634, you have the ATBM603x series – the "problem child."

    sudo cp firmware/*.bin /lib/firmware/altobeam/

Before downloading drivers, you must confirm the chipset.

  • Physical Inspection: Look at the USB casing. It often says "DVB-T2" or "ISDB-T".
