Arisu, Usagi, Chishiya, and others are drawn into a sprawling game inside a subway station and abandoned amusement park. The rules: two teams (Horses vs. Knights) must capture the opponent’s “king” within a time limit. Players wear color-coded vests, and if their vest’s LED turns red, they’re out.
Kyuma isn’t a villain. He’s a former musician who genuinely enjoys the game. His backstory (shown in a flashback) reveals he entered the Borderland with his bandmates. They chose to become Citizens to avoid killing others, instead designing games of skill.
